aura

a mobile app for intentional art discovery and lasting reflection

problem

Visiting exhibitions can be inspiring, but the experience often ends when visitors leave the gallery. Existing museum apps focus on logistics rather than helping people discover, remember, and reflect on the art they encounter.

solution

aura is a mobile experience designed to help Gen Z visitors discover exhibitions, document meaningful moments, and gradually build their visual taste through reflection and personal collections.

I led the end-to-end product design alongside a team of four designers, shaping the research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual identity. Through usability testing, the experience achieved an 8.7 NPS and received strong feedback for its intuitive navigation and emotional resonance.

Before designing aura, we explored how people experienced museums before, during, and after their visit. Research showed that visitors wanted more than exhibition information. They wanted to discover art more intentionally, remember meaningful moments, and gradually develop their own visual taste. These insights shaped the product strategy, information architecture, and overall experience.

01

instinctive discovery

Rather than presenting exhibitions as a static directory, aura transforms discovery into an engaging experience. Inspired by familiar swipe interactions, users can quickly explore exhibitions based on curiosity and personal interests, making discovery feel more playful, intuitive, and rewarding.

02

meaningful exploration

Discovery doesn't stop at finding an exhibition. Rich stories, curated recommendations, and contextual content encourage users to explore more deeply, helping them build stronger connections with the artists, spaces, and ideas behind each visit.

03

thoughtful curation

aura extends the museum experience beyond the visit by giving users a place to save artworks, write reflections, and curate personal collections. Over time, these moments become a visual record of their evolving interests and artistic taste.

aesthetic living

aura was designed to be more than a museum companion—it encourages a more intentional relationship with creativity. From the visual identity to the interface, every touchpoint reinforces a calm, expressive experience that inspires curiosity, reflection, and everyday appreciation for art.

Online dating often loses momentum after two people match. Repetitive conversations, unclear digital cues, and uncertainty around meeting in person make it difficult for users to build genuine connections.
